Something Political On Which We Can All Agree….

Two of my favorite poets, Alexander Pope and Elvis agree: “….Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.” Or something like that. Anyway, only foolish comics rush in to be political. That said, my purpose here is to unite, not divide. So here goes. I have a pretty broad array of friends, relatives and social media feeds. Based on that, I feel confident observing that there is one thing on which we ALL agree: Our President is doing the best job that any President ever has done, or will do…OR…he is doing the worst job that any President ever has done, or will do.

There is no middle ground. No moderation. No one earns a C on this exam. Neither the current President nor any leader is doing an OK job. This makes sense because our collective daughter Bethany is the best dancer in the show, our cat Muffy is the smartest cat ever, and our neighbor Fred is the worst neighbor ever.

So there you have it. The end of moderation. Have the best day ever, unless today is the worst day ever, in which case, tomorrow is sure to be the best.

I have noticed the same … people are so extreme. I haven’t heard anyone say, for instance, “I support Trump, but didn’t like the way he …..”; or conversely, “I can’t stand Trump, but must admit….”. There is no middle ground. It’s like judging a gymnastics competition with only 1’s or 10’s as scores.

P.S. You didn’t say there was going to be math involved (13 + 20 = ??). So, once again — 33 gets an “A”, anything else gets an “F” … no B’s, C’s or D’s (hey, if I get it right, but don’t show my work, is that a “B”?).

Actually Freed, your are the unfunniest comedian I have ever laughed at. Mr. Trump deserves everything, literally, that has been said about him. And, I am grossly underpaid for this wisdom.

      Agreed on all counts.
